The famous ‘Last night of the proms’ is considered the highlight and grand finale of the 8 week celebration of orchestral music, the event spreads out of the Albert Hall to locations all over the UK, enabling the whole country to appreciate the magic of the last night.
This aspect of the proms is an example of how they have evolved since 1895, the proms organisers have modernised the event in order to keep up with the increasing amount of technology which is made available to us. For example both live performances and extensive highlights will be available on the BBC red button, enabling viewers to experience the proms from home, in addition to this many performances will be streamed over the internet so viewers can constantly keep up to date with goings on throughout the proms.
Locations for the spectacular open air last night of the proms will take place in select locations across the UK including London Hyde Park, Caerphilly in Wales, Northern Ireland and Dundee in Scotland, this spread represents a certain modernisation of the proms as the live event is being made accessible to all the countries in the UK.
